| Self-Dicslosure dan Parental Monitoring: Model Mediasi dengan Parental Knowledge | Author : Indriawati Ghita Ghai Sani, Missiliana Riasnugrahani, Paulus H. Prasetya | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Self-disclosure is an individuals actions to share information about himself to others, whether it is private, less intimate or even everyday information. Adolescent with the development of personal space sometimes need distance and keep many secrets from their parents, and tend to be more open to friends. Parents who are worried about the childs social and personal life will do parental monitoring. Parental monitoring efforts are partly influenced by the social signals displayed by children, meaning that the strength of parental monitoring can be influenced by the degree of self-disclosure. On the other hand, children who try to disclose sometimes get different responses such as reacting positively or negatively from parents. Therefore, we assume that the strength of parental monitoring will also be influenced by parental knowledge. Self-disclosure will be a source of parental knowledge, and this knowledge then determines parental monitoring. If parents do not use the childs disclose to increase knowledge about the child, then the childs self-disclosure will not affect parental monitoring. Through a proportional stratified random sampling technique, it was obtained 394 high school students, to see the link between self-disclosure and parental monitoring with the mediation of parental knowledge. Data were taken using parental monitoring scale from Kerr and Stattin (a=0.83), self-disclosure scale from Wheeless and Grotz (a=0.67), and parental knowledge from Kerr and Stattin (a=0.73). Mediation test results with the model 4 Hayes PROCESS obtained that the relationship between self-disclosure and parental monitoring is fully mediated by parental knowledge of 0.10. This means that self-disclosure in high school students will affect parental monitoring, only if parents have adequate knowledge about their children. |

| Perbedaan Individual pada Ideologi Politik Berbasis Agama | Author : Ilmi Amalia | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In practicing worship almost all Muslims run in the same manner but in Indonesia also found the diversity of the face of Islam. One form of diversity is how to see religion as a political ideology. From various views political ideologies based on Islamic religion have polarizations, namely secular and radical Islamism. How to explain the diversity of ideologies based on individual differences. Jost et al (2009) offer three basic needs that determine individual ideological differences, namely the need for epistemic, the need for existential, and the need for relational. In addition to differences in the concept of fundamental needs, studies also show a relationship between personality types and ideological or political attitudes. Duckitt & Sibley (2010) offers a dual-process motivational model that explains that political ideology is formed due to interactions between personalities and different social situations. Many studies have been conducted to see the relationship between ideology with liberal and conservative polarization (right / left) or right wing authoritarianism (RWA) and social dominance orientation (SDO) with different needs or personality types (Jost, Ledgerwood, & Hardin, 2008; Jost et al., 2007; Sibley, Osborne, & Duckitt, 2012). However, no research has been conducted on political ideologies based on religion, especially Islam. The study was conducted on 243 Muslims and aged 17 years and over. Questionnaires were distributed in the Greater Jakarta area online and offline. The sampling technique used convenience sampling. Then the data is processed using regression analysis techniques. The results showed that together, the need for epistemic, need for existential, need for relational, and Big five personality influenced Islamic political ideology with a contribution of 7.2%. Significant predictors of the relationship are need for existential and need for relational. |
